What Happened in the Canmore Real Estate Market This Month?

Temperatures continued to soar in the Rocky Mountains west of Calgary and, despite the smoke from the BC wildfires, Canmorites and visitors alike continued to make the most of all that this great town has to offer. Canmore real estate activity in the Bow Valley rose slightly from July and there was a noticeable increase in foot traffic into the Century 21 Nordic Realty office. In total, there were 38 sales across all property types this August and 51 new listings hit the market. This leaves us with a total of 181 total active listings as of August 31st, 2017.

What Happened in the Canmore Real Estate Market in July?

July proved to be an unpredictable month for real estate sales. While the temperatures were HOT, buyer activity was a little cooler than expected (not that cool though, don't worry!)

There were 31 total sales across all Canmore property types in July 2017, compared with 37 in July 2016. Yet while this may not seem like a huge drop (after all, it's only 6 fewer properties this year), statistically-speaking it's a 16% decrease in activity.
